The Quality Assurance (QA) Supplier Specialist oversees the quality metrics for CUSA suppliers.The role includes assessing supplier performance, developing, and executing action plans, following up on customer complaints, detecting and correcting reported deviations, and preparing weekly supplier reports. The Specialist plays a crucial role in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing quality assurance and food safety programs to ensure that Campero's standards of quality and service are consistently met across the entire supply chain.
• Responsible for managing the supplier certification & continuous improvement program.
• Leads the CAFLAS (Campero Flavor System) program.
• Responsible for periodic quality assessments to suppliers, ensuring all Campero standards are met and providing an action plan and training to ensure all gaps are closed if needed. This position requires travel up to 70% of the time and requires a flexible schedule.
• Responsible for the certification & onboarding of all new suppliers.
• Manages Corrective/Preventive action plans with each supplier.
• Ensures compliance with FDA/USDA regulations.
• Works closely with R&D and Supply Chain to ensure vendors deliver on the flavor profiles.
• Collaborate with the R&D and Supply Chain to onboard new suppliers.
• Perform unannounced vendor and supplier audits to ensure all raw materials and processes follow Campero standards.
• Executed the track & trace program within the Supply Chain.
• Manages mock recalls & other scenarios to stress test our programs.
• Prepares and implements quality assurance policies and protocols with vendors.
• Responsible for staying current with all local and federal regulations in all states we operate.
• Ensures compliance with product specs and supports the upkeeping of the Campero Spec Book.
• Collaborates within the structure to find win-win outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree and applied equivalent in Food Science, Chemistry, Business, Industrial Engineering
• Minimum two years of Food Safety, QA/QC experience in the Food & Beverage Industry. Focusing on food production performance enhancement, continuous improvement & vendor certification programs.
• Having knowledge and certification of HACCP Concepts and quality systems is a must.
• ServSafe® Certified or equivalent
• Previous experience in quality assurance or similar field.
• Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance.
• Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory standards.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish ideal
• Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office software
• Knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control.
• Attention to detail.
• Analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws, and pose solutions to those flaws.
• Interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle stress and multi-task.
• Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting standards.
• FSMA/GFSI Training, PCQI Certified, and HACCP Certified are preferred.
• Auditing experience.
