Overview

The Paralegal will provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to the Director of Legal Affairs across a broad range of operational, real estate, development, construction, permitting, and corporate matters. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while coordinating with internal stakeholders, outside vendors, governmental authorities, and external counsel in a fast-paced, multi-unit restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance Support

  • Set up and maintain vendors, process invoices/check requests, and coordinate timely payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist with legal budgeting, accruals, invoice tracking, expense management, and audit-related requests.
  • Maintain organized records relating to legal expenditures, vendor documentation, insurance certificates, and payment status updates.
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Finance regarding reporting, payment processing, and financial documentation.

 

Construction, Development & Real Estate Support

  • Support legal and operational matters relating to Construction, Development, Real Estate, and Operations initiatives.
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, revising, organizing, and tracking leases, development agreements, construction contracts, amendments, notices, and termination documents.
  • Track project timelines, lease obligations, critical dates, and compliance requirements to support timely project execution.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation relating to development, construction, real estate, and asset management matters.

 

Permits & Licensing Management

  • Research, coordinate, obtain, and track permits, licenses, inspections, renewals, and related governmental approvals across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support Construction and Operations teams with permitting and licensing compliance requirements.
  • Maintain organized permit and licensing records, compliance trackers, and renewal schedules.

 

Administrative, Systems & Department Operations Support

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Legal Department, including management of mail, legal correspondence, filing, scanning, document organization, records retention, and departmental workflows.
  • Coordinate signatures and assist with the preparation, distribution, maintenance, and retention of legal documents, reports, databases, trackers, and departmental records.
  • Manage and maintain legal systems, spreadsheets, trackers, templates, software platforms, and organizational tools used by the Legal Department.
  • Monitor and track critical dates, deadlines, renewals, reporting obligations, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with departmental process improvements, workflow optimization, reporting initiatives, operational rollouts, and special projects.
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality while handling sensitive legal and business matters

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Director of Legal Affairs and other Paralegals on legal, operational, and administrative matters.
  • Provide legal and operational support to internal departments served by the Legal Department, including Accounting, Finance, Construction, Development, Real Estate, Operations, and Facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate or equivalent legal training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience supporting Construction, Development, Real Estate, Permitting, or related legal matters within an in-house legal department, law firm, or comparable professional environment.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and navigate legal, financial, and business systems software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, vendors, and governmental agencies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to exercise professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality while handling sensitive legal and business matters.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred

Pay Range

USD $75,000.00 - USD $80,000.00 /Yr.
